Treen Exhibit
You won't find this word in your dictionary!
Even the 1930 Oxford dictionary lists it as obsolete. "Treen"
is an old English word meaning "of a tree"; an object
made of wood. To truly be a treen it must also have a function,
so carvings don't count. Nor does furniture - too many parts.
In a way, many of the exhibits you will find throughout the
Discovery Centre are treens.
The Treen Exhibit presents a very
small fraction of the collection of William Klynn, bequeathed
to the BC Forest Discovery Centre in 2003
