2010 Track Crew

May 2010

The track crew has been hard at work replacing old railway ties and maintaining the track.  It's hard work, but the volunteers have shown great dedication to getting the job done!

The museum has 2.4 km (1.5 miles) of railway and estimates that over 100 ties need to be replaced every year as part of regular maintenance.  The railway is the museum's top attraction and is an important part of our visitors experience.  Thank you to the track crew!

The BC Forest Discovery Centre maintains and operates its railway to the standards set in our Safety Management System and is regulated and inspected by the BC Safety Authority.

If you would like to support the museum by joining the track crew, please contact Aimee Greenaway at (250) 715-1113 ext. 25 or email education.bcfdc@shawlink.ca
